On the benefits of thinking about the apocalypse:

A wonderful poem called 'Survivor' from the playful English poet, Roger McGough:

Survivor
by Roger McGough

Everyday,
I think about dying.
About disease, starvation,
violence, terrorism, war,
the end of the world.

It helps
keep my mind off things.

McGough has a talent for blending the fanciful with the poignant, as demonstrated in a poem we featured previously.
