Chrome Fetus Comics has a wonderfully bizarre online comic entitled ‘Sigmund Freud and the Uncanny Realm of the Unconscious’ where our intrepid psychoanalyst battles the dark forces of the planet psyche.
It actually makes a pretty good stab at describing Freudian theories, or, as well as can be expected in the 50s sci-fi comic book theme.
This isn’t the only comic to feature Freud as a super hero. ‘The New Adventures of Sigmund Freud’ comic is also well worth a look.

apart from that, I have a few comments to make, since I wrote the words to go with Hans’ images:
— although it may appear so, I have little except shallow knowledge of Freud. apart from THREE CASE HISTORIES, one Freud for beginners graphic novel (ironically enough) and perusing Wikipedia pages (until I got bored), pretty much all of it comes from cultural osmosis and only my imagination.
personally (and you may regard this arrogant given the lack of knowledge I just admitted) I consider Freud about 50% a quack with 50% good ideas, who gained his intellectual influence through vagaries of history.
whereas Gurdjieff, obscure then, obscure now, who had better ideas (at least 50% good ideas, probably more) gets ignored because the academic establishment never took him up. largely because Gurdjieff did not have the right credentials.
the fact that I can just pull “Freudian” “insights” out of my ass and sound vaguely wise says a lot.
— Hans set out to pastiche the work of Jack Kirby rather than 1950’s sf comics. the idea came to him in a dream.

if you like the Hulk, Iron Man, Thor (the Marvel version), the Fantastic Four and many other characters, you have Kirby to thank. he also worked on the fake film project which formed the basis for ARGO. (Kirby, as a character, even appeared in the movie.)
